Online Communities and Communications Coordinator/Sr. Coordinator (Remote)
The Online Communities (Sr.) Coordinator reports to and collaborates with our Director of Marketing and Communications (DMC). This key role will support the education and engagement strategies for The Diabetes Link across all constituent communities including but not limited to, Young Adults, Caregivers, Clinicians, College and University, Peer Organizations and Corporate Partners.
The Diabetes Link (formerly College Diabetes Network) recently underwent an organizational rebrand. We are committed to serving all young adults with diabetes and are embarking on an exciting growth phase. The establishment and expansion of online communities are integral to the successful growth of our peer support initiatives, connecting young adults to our educational resources and providing access to leadership opportunities.
Key Objectives
Coordinate daily activities of The Diabetes Link online communities and communications efforts to maximize engagement and support the growth of the young adult community.
Core Responsibilities
Contribute to the development of organization-wide community communications and content strategy.
Support the development and deployment of comprehensive social media and digital marketing campaigns across TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Discord and emerging platforms.
Create social media content including writing and editing posts, creating stories and reels content (video, photos, graphics).
Communicate and engage with constituents - respond to messages, comments, inquiries, etc.
Assist in the ongoing development and management of social influencer programs in support of organizational goals.
Develop and deliver regular email newsletters for our core audiences; Young Adults, Caregivers, Clinicians and General Audience.
Collaborate with DMC and VP of Mission to develop and launch Discord engagement strategies; partner with the Peer Support and Education teams to implement and improve.
Contribute to copywriting, design and distribution of communications and marketing materials, including blogs, whitepapers, case studies, emails, social media posts, video scripts, website copy, press releases, direct mail, and print/digital collateral.
Ensure organization-wide community content deadlines and deliverables are met.
Day to day management of online communities and accounts.
Perform regular website updates in Wordpress site, including new page development, content reviews and updates, blog and article posting.
Administrative point of contact for all content contributors and influencers.
Track and report on social media and all digital media performance via analytical tools such as Google Analytics, Hootsuite Pro, and Facebook Insights. Track newsletter performance.
Support the Development Manager in the successful implementation of our corporate membership program including social media and blog launches, quarterly reports and newsletters.
Build and maintain lists, reports, and dashboards in Salesforce.
Assist with generating media coverage, updating media contacts, and distributing press releases.
Build, track and update scholarship lists, conference lists and deliverables.
Qualifications and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in journalism, communications, marketing, digital media, or a related field.
2 or more years of social media experience including planning and managing content.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills; Editing (photo/video/text) skills and an understanding of social media management and strategy.
Experience using Canva, Wordpress (or other web platforms), Campaign Monitor (or other email marketing platforms). Experience with Salesforce, Monday.com, Slack, Hootesuite and using analytics software, google analytics and social media reporting are plusses.
Positive attitude, detail-oriented, exceptional time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks.
Demonstrable social networking experience and social analytics tools knowledge.
Other duties as assigned.
Salary and Benefits
The salary range for this position is $52,000-$57,000.
