Marketing/Communications Manager, Student Navigator Network
Overview
Over 60% of all college students experience “basic needs insecurity,” and the Student Navigator Network (SNN) is a unique peer-to-peer case management program for college students who are unable to access or afford the basic things that they need to succeed in school, including rent, utilities, food, medical care, mental health care, child care, transportation, and personal-care items, as well as tuition, computers, internet, or school supplies. The SNN has programs at campus and non-profit partners across the country, and is expanding quickly. We are a start-up, fast-paced, and high impact.
The Marketing/Communications Manager will be responsible for developing and executing strategies across a variety of platforms, to increase student engagement with the SNN, using industry standards and best practices to reach students, faculty members, administrators, and community-based organizations. Candidates should be able to offer ingenuity, creativity, nimbleness, and enthusiasm, with the desire to learn and contribute to a fast-paced, growing program. This individual will report to the Director of the Student Navigator Network, and serve as a vital member of the core management team. The position is 100% virtual.

Duties and Responsibilities
Increase uptake of the SNN’s offerings by driving awareness among college students, faculty, staff, and community partners through strategic marketing and communications
Create, execute, and manage highly engaging, compelling, and targeted content for social media, newsletters, emails, texts, invitations, event promotion, merchandise, and print and digital promotional materials including brochures, flyers, posters, and one-pagers
Monitor, evaluate, and analyze all outreach efforts, online traffic, KPIs, etc. to determine outreach effectiveness and optimize messaging, content, and strategy
Create and produce creative and dynamic slide decks, webinars and videos
Create internal and external reports including infographics
Provide guidance for website development, including design and content that reflects each partner’s culture
Collaborate with various institutions of higher education and community-based organizations
Quickly respond to ever-changing programs and context
Stay abreast of emerging tactics and best practices in marketing/communications field
Collaborate with SNN core team
Will be responsible for specific projects/initiatives as assigned
Qualifications
Two to three years experience in communications and marketing, for nonprofit organizations and/or institutions of higher education, or related outreach programs that focus on students who are first generation or from low-income backgrounds
Demonstrated knowledge of the inner workings of higher education, and the student experience
Experience creating, managing, and analyzing social media campaigns across multiple platforms (Instagram, Facebook, TikTok) for varied audiences in higher education and community organizations
Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, including listening and interview skills, with proven experience in creating persuasive and engaging content across multiple modalities
Experience creating and producing webinars, videos, and slide presentations
Strong sense of professionalism, including ability to manage multiple deadlines; strong work ethic and commitment to see assignments completed thoroughly and on time; flexibility to pitch in when needed; willingness to learn new skills and improve existing skills
Experience with Adobe Creative Suite or Canva, and Google Suite
Fully vaccinated & boosted, or weekly proof of negative COVID-19 tests
Preferred Qualifications
Familiarity with issues of basic needs insecurity among college students
Experience with Canvas
Familiarity with SurveyMonkey and EveryAction platforms
