Development Coordinator
RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
Donor Meetings & Cultivation Events
Cultivate and manage Peer-to-Peer campaigns and develop corporate teams and general fundraising events
Interface with high-level scientists/chief executives, artists, and other community leaders on logistics related to their appearances at donor cultivation events
Partner with the development team to write some of the needed communications for cultivation events (briefs, speaker talking points, and calls to action, social media posts, etc)
Organize logistics related to donor cultivation events held throughout the year, including invitation lists and invitations, venues, RSVP tracking, catering, nametags, etc.
Manage the project management timelines for events to ensure all deadlines are met
Community Engagement/Outreach
Organize logistics related to Community Engagement/Outreach events held throughout the year, including invitation lists and invitations, venues, RSVP tracking, catering, nametags, data entry, etc.
Interface with vendors on logistics
Work with cross-functional team members to highlight what creative materials are needed for the outreach effort
Donor and Corporate Research
Build strong research profiles on donors – both short thumbnails and extensive research, depending on the need
Support the Executive Director, and Development team with projects related to major giving prospects and other special projects as assigned
Maintain an updated list used for corporate development efforts and ensure correct tracking techniques are in place
Become a key source of donor information for staff and the executive team
Develop donor reports as needed for team members
CRM
Maintain excellent account records on board and leadership giving donors including development activity and gift opportunity tracking. Record key account activity on behalf of the Executive Director as needed
Prepare donor data analysis for quarterly Board meetings, and as needed throughout the year
Pull reports or work with Grant Writer and Operations Manager to build reports, as requested
Help teach the intricacies of the CRM and coach other team members on best practices for improved CRM use
Board of Directors
Support the Executive Director with logistics, meeting materials, and Board of Director communications including quarterly meetings, annual meetings, board retreats and new board member orientation
Coordinate Board Meetings outside of standard office hours
Maintain an accurate record of Board Member giving and solicited donations
Serve as a point of contact for Board Members
Issue and compile results on the annual board survey
Operations Support
Attend weekly Development meetings and other organizational meetings
Work closely with the Development team and respond to donation thank yous as required
Update Revenue Log and Stewardship Report weekly and send to the team
Send donor acknowledgment letters and handwritten notes weekly
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education in the social sector and/or relevant nonprofit Development training
Experience with planning cultivation receptions and dinners for high-level donors is a plus
2+ years of office/administrative experience required
Experience preparing presentations, reports, and business correspondence
Excellent organizational skills, as well as excellent written and oral communication skills, required
Proficiency with Google Suite, Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint, Zoom, and CRM is required
Highest personal, professional, and ethical standards
Has the ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment
Team player that has the ability to interface with all levels of staff and volunteers
Ability to work independently, collaborate, and demonstrate sound judgment
Compensation
The position is full-time with flexible hours and a high degree of autonomy and growth. The annual salary is $41K - $52K based on prior development experience and remote geography, with 10 paid holidays. $500 education/training allowance or paid towards their personal insurance. Kids & Art offers 401k through CalSavers. Qualified Candidates desiring less than full-time work at a prorated salary may be considered.

The position is remote. The expectation is that staff will be available for in-person meetings and other in-person gatherings as required and when safe to do so. Occasional evening and weekend work required.
