Marketing & Communications Manager
The International Living Future Institute (ILFI) is seeking a Marketing & Communications Manager to play a critical role in ensuring the organization achieves its plans for growth in alignment with its mission, vision and values. This individual will report to the Senior Director of MarCom and will be a key player in ILFI’s marketing and communications efforts cross-departmentally and network-wide. The Marketing & Communications Manager will be responsible for digital content creation, maintaining ILFI’s editorial calendar, and managing all aspects of the organization’s social media presence.
Ideally, the candidate will be comfortable working both independently and collaboratively within a small, close-knit team, and thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. The successful candidate must be able to communicate effectively with a diverse range of stakeholders.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
General Marketing & Communications:
Work with the ILFI MarCom team to develop, implement, and evaluate a marketing strategy across all platforms – website, social media, blog, email marketing, video – to yield measurable outcomes
Work to nurture, build, and engage ILFI’s audience and community
Support organizational goals of reaching new audiences and driving web traffic
Write, edit, and post (search-engine friendly) content across platforms (e.g. Email, Social, Website, Marketing Collateral) with copy that is engaging, professional and in ILFI’s voice
Develop email campaigns and automations & work with the team to develop strong list segmentation and targeting approaches for email marketing and other external communications using Pardot
Work with Web Graphic Designer to ensure and oversee the design and improvement of email templates in accordance with ILFI branding
Social Media Management and Advertising: work with external consultants to enhance our brand’s social media presence, drive targeted leads through social media and paid advertising
Work with internal clients to establish goals, and develop campaigns for product lines in coordination with other members of the MarCom team and outside consultants
Work with outside consultants to drive conversions using paid social media and advertising strategies (including Google Display Ads, Instagram ads, Twitter ads, and LinkedIn ads)
Maintain communications editorial calendar for ILFI staff use for web, email and social media
Manage ILFI’s digital asset library
Contribute to corporate/partner engagement through content development in collaboration with key staff (e.g., Case Studies, Strategic Plan, Annual Report)
Support media and other relevant external partner relationships as needed
Branding & Graphics
Develop and refine brand and messaging and ensure consistency across all platforms across all ILFI's messaging
Collaborate on the creative design and creation of all organizational publications and collateral, both directly and with external graphic design consultants, as needed
Work with MarCom team and external producers to produce branded video content
Trim Tab Blog & Magazine
In collaboration with the Senior MarCom Director, coordinate the content, copyediting, and production phase. Ensure successful completion and monitor progress
Support content writing, as needed
Social Media Management
In coordination with external consultant, manage all aspects of ILFI’s social media presence (ILFI website, LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Pinterest, YouTube)
Drive strategy to increase daily engagement on ILFI social media accounts
Supplement content creation for ILFI’s social media channels, including written copy, graphics & videos, as needed
Increase awareness for key initiatives and events, including Annual Conference
Data & Analytics
Monitor, report and present on online engagement analytics (web, email, social media, earned media)
Leverage key engagement metrics across platforms to optimize content, messaging and distributions
Qualifications

3-5 years of relevant professional experience in communications and/or marketing
Bachelor's degree in communications or marketing, or a related field, such as journalism, or public relations, or equivalent experience
Branding experience with developing brands and/or adhering to strict brand guidelines
Strong oral and written communications skills
Graphic design experience, including Adobe Creative Cloud
Wordpress, Pardot, or comparable web platform and CMS experience
Solid knowledge of design and visual principles
Work samples showing content marketing skills
Ability to evaluate choices critically, with the customer's needs in mind
Digital and event marketing experience
Social media community manager experience
Attention to detail and excellent organizational skills
Great project management skills and ability to work under pressure
A passion and commitment to sustainability, including green building, and social equity, and an appetite to learn more about these rapidly evolving fields
Ability to go with the flow in a fast-paced, high-energy, growing organization
Good data analysis, problem-solving and critical thinking skills
Proven results in implementing marketing and communications strategic plans
Proven results in managing social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Instagram, etc.) and analytics technologies (Google Analytics, etc.) to engage a diverse audience
Familiarity with CMS platforms and basic HTML (WordPress, etc.)
Demonstrated ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously while managing deadlines
Demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, and creating an inclusive work environment
Ability to inspire teams to set priorities and meet deadlines, preferably with experience leading and managing people and projects in the digital environment
Strong ability and affinity for technology with the ability to learn new software applications; experience with MacOS, Google Workspace, Asana (or similar), and Salesforce strongly preferred

Salary and Benefits
USD $59,000 - USD $63,000 / year
The salary is supplemented by ILFI’s generous benefits package that includes employer-paid health, dental and vision insurance for employees and dependents as well as employee life insurance, short-term disability, and a 403(b) retirement plan with a 6% match after six months. Annual time off benefits include three weeks of paid annual leave, 12 days of sick leave, and paid volunteer time.
ILFI offers a collaborative, team-oriented and mission-driven hybrid workplace, headquartered at the Bullitt Center in Seattle, WA with staff distributed across the United States and Canada. All staff are currently working from home, with the option to work in the Bullitt Center for Seattle-area staff. We offer a $50/month stipend to offset home internet costs.
