PLUS ME Project is a Los Angeles-based organization that activates the art of personal storytelling to build confidence in underserved youth as they pursue college, career, and life goals. We believe everyone has a story that matters and have impacted over 100,000 students since 2013. We are looking for an experienced individual to strengthen and implement a comprehensive development plan to secure individual donor funds.

We offer presentations, workshops, and training sessions for students, teachers, and parents.
Development Manager (Remote near L.A)
PLUS ME is seeking a full-time Development Manager who will play a critical role in fundraising for PLUS ME’s program, operation, and growth goals. Reporting to the Executive Director, the Development Manager will plan and execute fundraising campaigns and policies, maintain donor portfolios, and lead the in-house development team to fulfill our annual strategic development plan. This role will also co-supervise the Development & Grants Associate.
Responsibilities
Fundraising & Development Strategy
Develop, maintain, and implement PLUS ME’s development plan with the intention to surpass current individual giving goals (estimated to bring in $250,000+ in FY23)
With the Executive Director and Board successfully lead direct fundraising by identifying, engaging, cultivating, and stewarding individual prospects and current donors
Review, improve, and expand current development database, system, and processes.
Campaign & Event Management
Research, design, and implement our year-end annual appeal campaign
Expand the current recurring gift program (Storytelling Society) by securing new members
Package and develop marketing materials to support all fundraising campaigns
Plan, oversee, and manage all aspects of event operations and logistics for at least four annual fundraising/cultivation/donor appreciation special events, including an in-person annual benefit
Donor & Volunteer Engagement
Maintain donor relationships and portfolios for all major gift donors ($1,000+)
Identify and cultivate effective peer-to-peer initiatives by training volunteers on best practices for how to successfully secure support through online campaigns
Write compelling proposals, reports, invitations, thank you letters, and other donor communications
Manage our donor software system (Salesforce) and oversee data entry and gift processing
Co-supervise the Development & Grants Associate
Ideal Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree
At least 3 years of experience in donor identification, project management, relationship building, and fundraising
Excellent communicator with strong relationship building skills, integrity, creativity, and emotional intelligence

Salary and Benefits
$60,000 - $65,000
The Development Manager is an exempt, full-time position that is fully remote with some travel needed within Los Angeles on a monthly basis. Benefits include a health care plan at 100% coverage, a full dental and vision plan, PTO (holidays, sick, and vacation), and a life insurance plan.
