Research & Program Manager
Position
Reporting to the Senior Director of Programs, the Research & Program Manager will be responsible for research and partnerships particularly across CLF’s climate resilience, emergency response, and justice initiatives as well as advocacy opportunities.
Research
Actively stay across and report on key developments, statistics, trends, potential partners, and advocacy opportunities in CLF’s areas of focus
Assist with Caribbean regional research including ecosystem, community organization, and stakeholder mapping
Build relationships with key researchers, thought leaders, scientists, and others in CLF’s areas of focus
Draft white papers, op-eds, blogs, and occasional background for social media posts
Support the communications team with research on current events in CLF’s areas of focus/background for social media actions as needed
Identify priority social media actions and opportunities for CLF amplification
Research and identify advocacy opportunities around all CLF’s key programmatic activities
Research advocacy opportunities around activation moments throughout the year
Maintain database of data and statistics related to CLF’s areas of focus for use in reports and external communications
Perform other duties as required
Programs
Support the Programs team with research and vetting of potential partners
Assist with correspondence with current programs partners including contracts and impact tracking, particularly around CLF’s emergency response work
Actively source partnership opportunities under CLF’s emergency response work
Develop program content such as blogs, blurb, updates and concept notes
Qualifications
This is an extraordinary opportunity for an individual with broad research, international development and advocacy experience to play a critical role in key decision making in a small, high impact team.
Experience
A minimum of a BA/BS degree
At least seven years experience in a nonprofit, academic, or impact-oriented environment
Strong background in research roles, particularly around CLF’s areas of work
Extremely strong writing skills
A strong preference for someone who has operated in a fast-growing environment
An effective communicator at all levels in the organization and with partners, with strong oral and written skills and a willingness to share information
A collaborative and flexible style, with a strong service mentality
Personal Characteristics
Excellent communication and relationship building skills with an ability to prioritize, negotiate, and work with a variety of internal and external stakeholders
Outstanding communications skills, written and oral
Demonstrated resourcefulness and good judgment

Salary
USD $75,000 - USD $90,000 / year
