Digital Engagement & Communications Director
Vote Mama is hiring a Digital Engagement and Communications Associate to support the work of our PAC, Foundation, and c4 Action Fund.
About us:
The Vote Mama PAC is the only organization in the country solely dedicated to increasing the political power of Democratic moms by disrupting the systems that hold women back through direct financial support, mentorship, and endorsements of progressive moms with young children running for office up and down the ballot and across the country.
The Vote Mama Action Fund is a 501(c)4 organization working in partnership with the 501(c)3 Vote Mama Foundation to achieve gender equity by breaking down barriers for working mothers to run for elected office, winning universal childcare for all Americans, and expanding the use of Campaign Funds for Childcare for all candidates running for office.
The Digital Engagement and Communications Associate is joining Vote Mama at an exciting inflection point as our organization continues to grow.

The Digital Engagement and Communications Associate is responsible for leading, expanding, and engaging our supporter base and developing new strategies for winning campaigns and deepening our grassroots engagement online and offline.

The Digital Engagement and Communications Associate will report directly to Founder and CEO, Liuba Grechen Shirley.
About you:
Previous political communications experience preferred, with at least one cycle of experience working with Democratic campaigns and/or in progressive politics
Familiarity with political data, latest technologies, and best practices in the field, including the changing contours of political discourse/campaigns
Digital and marketing skills, including a deep understanding of best practices for Twitter, Instagram, and Facebook
Proficiency in Wix for website management
Proficiency in Canva for graphic production, across all Vote Mama entities
Proficiency in Mailchimp, NGP, and Action Network for email management
Strong verbal and written communication skills, in Vote Mama’s voice & in our founder & CEO, Liuba Grechen Shirley’s voice as well
The Portfolio:
Increase engagement with Vote Mama’s existing supporter base
Develop and implement a digital engagement strategy that results in high impact and timely engagement with supporters;
Develop a content calendar and process that keeps supporters consistently informed and engaged with meaningful actions throughout the year;
Develop strategies to move highly engaged supporters up the engagement ladder towards more impactful action.
Grow our supporter base
Increase the rate of organic supporter growth and conversion with compelling, timely and engaging content.
If applicable, develop a plan for paid digital engagement as well, to increase supporter base across entities
Drive earned media:
Develop earned media strategies for our core campaigns and research and program areas to drive significant media coverage about Vote Mama;
Cultivate and manage excellent relationships with reporters, editors, and producers;
Write press materials.
Write:
Write and copy edit excellent press materials, reports, web copy, emails, and other materials as needed;
Manage our email strategy, including fundraising and engagement emails;
Create engaging, brand-aligned materials and visuals;
Maintain and update Vote Mama’s internal communications documents e.g. reporter database, and target media lists, as well as collating relevant statistics and research;
Manage projects, fellows, and consultants as needed.
Salary
$65,000 - $75,000
