Regional Staff Accountant
Overview:

Position Summary:
This role interfaces on a daily/weekly basis with regional staff and leadership, providing reporting and decision support for BBYO’s activities in the field. The Regional Staff Accountant will ensure that their assigned financials are managed in accordance with GAAP standards, BBYO accounting policies and procedures, and established internal controls. This position is responsible for maintaining the financial operations, analysis, and monthly reporting for each regional entity. This position will also assist with monthly closings; preparation of the monthly financial statements; maintaining schedules and subsidiary ledgers; and various special duties as assigned. The position will not entail any collections responsibilities. The Staff Accountant reports to the Senior Director, Finance
Major Responsibilities/Activities:
Month-End Close - includes GL reconciliations
Monthly financial statements, analysis, and review
Regional Event Budget-to-Actual variance reports and analysis
Regional forecast and budget development
Staff training
Standard and ad hoc reporting
Audit support
Special projects and support for Finance leadership as needed
Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree with an accounting concentration
1-3 years of similar experience
Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, knowledgeable in Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint
Experience with Blackbaud Financial Edge preferred, but not required
Excellent problem-solving, research, and analytical skills
Effective and professional written and verbal communication skills
Strong initiative and desire to learn
Service-first attitude
Organized, self-motivated, and team-oriented work style
Excellent attention to detail and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
Unrestricted authorization to work in the U.S. without holding a visa or sponsorship.
