Programs and Development Associate
Position Description: We are looking for a Programs and Development Associate to join our team. The Programs and Development Associate is a new role within Nadia’s Initiative (NI), founded by 2018 Nobel Peace Laureate Nadia Murad, who is now President of the Board of Directors. The Programs and Development Associate will join a small, hard-working group of team members committed to the mission of NI. The Programs and Development Associate will work closely with NI’s team to support its programs in Sinjar, Iraq, as well as to steward grassroots donors and research prospective funders. This is a position best suited for a nonprofit or social sector professional with a detail orientation and positive attitude who is passionate about women’s rights, international development, and the importance of rebuilding communities in crisis and advocating for survivors of sexual violence. This position reports to the Director of Programs and Partnerships.
Job Functions:
Programs (60%)
* Project management - Coordinating with stakeholders, M&E, reporting to donors, community engagement, and budget and financials reporting
* Project development - Analysis of community needs assessments, research, proposal and budget development, and tender preparation and analysis
* Partnerships management - drafting MOUs, reviewing project budgets and deliverables, and preparing communications for donors
* Track deadlines, reporting, and weekly M&E
* Gather project communications collateral to liaise with NI communications team regarding program updates
Development (40%)
* Research prospective funders (grants, foundations, corporate, major donors)
* Gather grant applications and due diligence materials
* Oversee grassroots donor strategy, management, and execution, including donor stewardship and database management
* Be proactive in helping NI grow its funding base
Qualifications:
* 2-4 years of full-time professional experience in the nonprofit or social sector
* Past experience in project management required
* Background in international development, humanitarian aid, or human rights required
* Past experience using Excel and online databases required
* Previous experience in fundraising and grant management preferred
* Strong attention to detail
* Proactive work style that can take ownership and work independently, while also communicating clearly with the team
* Flexible work style with the ability to work under tight deadlines
* Live between the following time zones: EST and GMT+3
