Fundraising Lead (Part Time)
The largest and most ambitious project of its kind, the Global Assembly (GA) is preparing to launch the first citizens’ assembly that anyone in the world can join as part of the UN COP26 climate conference in November 2021. GA’s primary purpose is to support citizens to address the current climate and ecological crisis -- by accelerating large-scale action and engagement in a way that is truly participatory and can bring about equitable, just, and sustainable solutions.
Designed with key input from leading experts, strategists, and change makers, the GA is designed to employ strategies around collective intelligence, distributed deliberation, systems thinking, empathic understanding and meaningful action to:
support the development of a core assembly comprised of lottery selected, globally representative citizens to engage in ongoing dialogue and present recommendations to key decision makers at COP26 and future COPs
coordinate distributed events that both mirror the learning journey of the core and amplify the activities of the core assembly to spark a global conversation that explores the scale of the climate emergency along with opportunities to develop effective responses
empower large numbers of people and organisations globally to take action on the climate emergency
