Overview of Suit Up

Founded in 2014, SuitUp is a 501c3 non-profit organization that increases college and career awareness with students from underserved communities. SuitUp organizes virtual and in-person student business competitions for corporate volunteers where employees help students solve a problem for a real company, like creating a new product for Nike or solving a community problem through Snapchat. Since inception, SuitUp has hosted over 200 competitions for companies like Goldman Sachs, NBCUniversal, Snap Inc., Louis Vuitton, and many others, organizing events for over 7,900 volunteers and impacting more than 9,800 students.

The Opportunity

SuitUp is currently seeking to bring on a scrappy “jack of all trades” to support our growth as we scale our programs across the US. This individual will own two work streams including social media content creation and corporate partnership lead generation. This will include maintaining our brand on social media platforms, running digital marketing campaigns across platforms, communicating with donors, volunteers and stakeholders via newsletters, LinkedIn, and interviews, and thinking outside the box to promote the SuitUp brand and program.

As a fifth employee, this individual must be ready to take initiative and work without much oversight. We’re looking for the true embodiment of our company values – Innovation, Integrity, and Passion and Perseverance. This is a great role for someone who’s hungry to make their mark on a small non-profit that is changing life trajectories in communities that need it most.

Key Accountabilities

  • Manage, monitor, and develop social media content and calendars for Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, TikTok, and LinkedIn

  • Run targeted campaigns on Google AdWords, Facebook/IG, and other platforms

  • Create actionable plans to both grow and maintain followers for social media platforms

  • Build engagement and stewardship opportunities for current donors and corporate volunteers

  • Produce out-of-the box ideas that generate inbound leads for SuitUp corporate partners

  • Support the programs teams in its communications with schools, students, and youth partners

  • Update website as needed with support from SuitUp staff

  • Design shareable images quickly using Adobe Creative Suite or Canva to create content or one-pagers for specific departments

  • Define and assess KPIs and measurement practices, analytics, and reporting methods to assess brand performance

  • Assist SuitUp in its fundraising efforts by attending out of work hour hours events approximately 5-10 times a year (i.e. happy hours, fundraisers, board meetings, etc.)

  • Take on tasks outside of job description to support SuitUp in its growth and for the good of the organization

Knowledge and Capabilities

  • 1-2+ years of social/digital marketing experience (PS: Just graduating from college this year? Don’t let this bullet deter you from applying. If you’ve had internships or other experiences, that counts!)

  • Experience with FB Analytics, Google Analytics, and Scheduling Platforms

  • Knowledge of HTML and CSS content management systems, such as SquareSpace, and website management

  • Excellent writing and editing skills, with the ability to write compelling digital content that compels followers to take action

  • Forward thinking mindset to plan and create innovative campaigns

  • Project management experience with the ability to set and meet deadlines, be detail oriented and highly organized

  • Experience with graphic design and branding via Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, etc.

  • Self-starter with the ability to take initiatives and run with projects independently, working with discretion and under pressure as needed

  • Organized, professional, energetic and positive with natural leadership qualities

  • A passion for education and increasing career awareness for students in low-income communities

  • Demonstrates an inspirational attitude that contributes to a positive team environment

  • Ability to build and maintain effective working relationships along with a willingness to set and maintain high standards of performance

  • Ability to learn and adapt quickly in a fast-paced start-up culture

  • Excellent skills in operating computers and various software packages including Microsoft Office (Powerpoint and Word)

SuitUp is an equal opportunity employer. We encourage applications from all qualified individuals without regard to race, color, religion, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, age, national origin, marital status, citizenship, disability, veteran status, and political affiliation.

Benefits

  • We’ll be the first to say that we’re still in start-up mode and that in the SuitUp family, this means we all wear many different hats and all managed multiple workstreams. We’re looking for the person who sees autonomy as a perk, not a deterrent. Other perks include:

  • Networking with a diverse client base, which includes companies like Snap Inc., Salesforce, Morgan Stanley, Goldman Sachs, DoorDash, Coach, and more!

  • Join a talented team in a fast-paced start-up environment where the company culture focused on “how can we say yes?”

  • Flexible work schedule and ability to work remotely

  • Monthly cash stipend to cover extra costs associated with remote work

  • Healthcare

  • 401k and 3% matching (after one year of service at the company)
