Development Specialist
Description
The Rapid Results Institute (RRI) is seeking a creative, personable, and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Development Specialist.

The Development Specialist will work with the RRI Leadership Team and staff to support resource development through donor relations, communications, appeals, proposal development and management, and database management. The Development Specialist will report to the Head Catalyst.
We are looking for a Development Specialist who can help coordinate and implement the organization’s fundraising efforts and plan, specifically assisting RRI’s leadership team in their efforts to raise general operating revenue through relationships with individual and institutional funders.

This is a full-time remote position. Usually, occasional travel (<10%) was required for certain roles to support teams in the field before, during, and after their 100-Day Challenges and for RRI’s annual retreat. However, due to COVID-19, all of our workshops are now virtual – and will continue to be until it is safe to travel again.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Fundraising Database Management - Salesforce:
Enter and manage grant proposal and report deadlines; maintain grant and contribution information; and enter key funder and donor contact information.
Create biweekly and annual dashboards, other analytics, and lists.
Integrate the data and functionality of Salesforce with other databases as needed.
Maximize the potential of Salesforce to support RRI’s fundraising efforts.
Coordinate and manage next steps RRI team members and Board need to take with existing and potential funders.
Funder and Donor Identification, Cultivation, and Stewardship
Support the RRI Leadership Team and Board with their donor cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship efforts.
Draft communications such as donor stewardship reports, donor outreach, thank you notes to donors and board members, memos, letters, and gift agreements; proofread materials.
Work closely with the Communications Manager to ensure donor communications and solicitations are implemented and executed consistently.
Work with the Head Catalyst and Leadership Team to ensure timely responses to fundraising deadlines.
Research and identify foundation and individual donor prospects.
Ensure grants and gifts are acknowledged in a timely manner.
Regularly refresh acknowledgments and stewardship pieces.
Proposal Writing
Create, edit, and format letters of inquiry, grant proposals, and grant reports - paying close attention to detail.
Produce and maintain organizational support documents for grant application and reporting materials.
Requirements
Qualifications
Minimum of two years’ experience working in fundraising or nonprofit development, or comparable experience in another field
Experience prospecting, cultivating, and soliciting institutional funders
Previous grant writing experience a plus
Knowledge of 501(c)(3) fundraising a plus
Working knowledge of fundraising or similar databases, experience with Salesforce preferred
Knowledge of and experience working on homelessness, justice system reform, or equity issues preferred; experience in the international development sector is also helpful
Strong attention to detail and organized self-starter with excellent time management skills
Ability to work as part of a team and with staff in different locations across several time zones
Patient and persistent with a positive attitude; Strong commitment to social justice issues, and a deep commitment to the mission of Rapid Results Institute

Benefits
The salary range for this position starts at $50,000.
