Impact Center is a premier nonprofit leadership development organization that helps leaders to achieve the impact they are seeking within themselves, their teams, and their organizations. Our signature Women’s Executive Leadership Program helps women, from a wide variety of fields, thrive professionally and personally by strengthening their leadership skills, accelerating their professional and personal development, and expanding their professional networks. Relationships are a key aspect of Impact Center’s work.
Position Overview
Reporting to the Director of Programs and Operations, the Communications and Network Engagement Associate will support the organization in the acquisition, formation, and management of relationships across programs, program alumni, and organization partners.
The Communications and Network Engagement Associate helps our target markets become aware of Impact Center programs and creates fresh and relevant content to share our story with the world. The Communications and Network Engagement Associate also develops and maintains the Impact Center’s CRM and communication channels through our website, email campaigns, and social media, as well as coordinates events.
Key Responsibilities
Network Engagement
In collaboration with the Director, develops and implements effective marketing and acquisition strategy to grow Impact Center’s Network and increase engagement.
Develops and implements a successful network engagement strategy.
Develops, manages, and grows Impact Center’s online community.
Help identify and acquire network candidates.
Develops and maintains a directory of Women’s Executive Leadership Program alumnae.
Database Management
Responsible for all aspects of database record maintenance.
Maintains and updates a highly accurate contact database, including creating new member records and updating existing records.
Collaborates with staff on database management.
Produces reports, including reports on progress of meeting recruitment and retention goals.
Communications
Develops strategy, manages, and grows Impact Center's social media engagement.
Manages, promotes, and grows Impact Center’s blogs and online offerings, such as webinars series.
Oversees content of online newsletters.
Helps develop marketing content and develops creative and engaging marketing materials incorporating such content.
Maintains website and social media accounts.
Helps market and administer Impact Center’s individual giving program.
Event Management
Assists in the planning, marketing, and logistics for virtual and in-person programs and events.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
The following knowledge, skills, and abilities are critical for success in the Associate position:
Demonstrated experience managing several diverse projects simultaneously.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced growth-focused environment.
Excellent writing/editing skills.
Experience with webinar platforms, CRM databases, e-marketing platforms, and social-media scheduling platforms.
Publication experience (print and digital).
Excellent project management skills; must be able to plan and manage projects both independently and with other colleagues.
Demonstrated history of taking initiative and following through on responsibilities.
Strong organizational, creative problem-solving, and analytical skills; ability to manage situations and meet demanding deadlines.
Enthusiastic, motivated, and flexible; ability to strategize.
Excellent attention to detail.
Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
Familiarity with email marketing campaigns.
Strong interpersonal skills to work constructively with a wide variety of people and organizations.
Advanced MS Office skills: Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint; comfort in using G-Suite tools.
Adaptability: enjoys the challenges of a changing environment and diverse client requirements.
Willingness to accept and take on new challenges for professional growth.
Education and Experience
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent of experience and education required.
At least 2 years post-college work experience, preferably in a membership or development capacity for an association or nonprofit organization.
Benefits and Compensation
The position is remote and full time. Although the position is virtual and can be accomplished from anywhere, the Impact Center’s senior staff are located in the greater Washington, D.C. area and the Communications and Network Engagement Associate will be expected to be available during the East Coast’s workday.
The salary for the Communications and Network Engagement Associate position varies depending on experience. Impact Center employees have access to an employer-sponsored retirement plan and a health plan.
