Training Manager

Position: Training Manager (100% remote position)
Reporting to: Vice President, Consulting Services

The Training Manager works in close collaboration with the Consulting Services team, client staff, and other internal and external subject matter experts to support program services, develop tailored training and education content and services, and to facilitate and conduct trainings for RAINN's clients. The Training Manager will report to the Vice President via the Director of Training and Education and the Chief of Consulting Services Operations.
This position is one of the most visible client-facing roles in the organization, representing RAINN on the "front lines" through frequent and regularly delivered trainings, workshops, and facilitated conversations for external client audiences. However, the time spent delivering trainings represents only the tip of the iceberg. The ideal candidate is also a skilled researcher, consultant, and project manager who understands the importance of delivering exemplary client service throughout the entirety of the project cycle and client relationship.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: The Training Manager will provide the following services to RAINN, in cooperation with the RAINN staff, vendors, and other consultants engaged by RAINN, as appropriate:
Training and Education
Assess training and development needs for various sectors and organizations
Hold strategic, consultative conversations with organizations to determine issues and develop and deliver trainings tailored to the unique needs and culture of our client organizations
Understand how to engage groups regardless of the delivery method and number of participants and is comfortable presenting in both in-person and virtual training sessions
Can create a safe environment for all trainings to take place has a clear and rich understanding of how to provide victim-centered and trauma-informed environments during trainings
Can handle tough conversations, questions, or other interactions with participants in a respectful, educational, and non-judgmental way
Monitor training for effectiveness and evaluate all trainings for changes to improve the delivery of the material and the ability of participants to learn the material
Project Management
Manage multiple training projects simultaneously, assisting with the management and execution of project schedules to ensure project milestones, budget, and staffing are proceeding as planned
Collaborate with internal RAINN staff, clients, and external stakeholders to coordinate and manage the details of any on-site or virtual meetings associated with each project
Communicate regularly, respectfully, and efficiently with project teams, clients, and other external stakeholders
Provide regular status updates for all projects manage the project plans and bring issues or concerns with applicable solutions to the project director immediately
Review and assess program standards against best and promising-practices, providing written recommendations for the improvement or compliance of standards
Business Development
Participate in and hold initial conversations with organizations who have training needs; facilitate these conversations strategically with the larger overall goal of understanding the client, their needs, and how training or other services within the Consulting Services department may suit their needs
Possess excellence in business strategy, proposal writing, and analysis
Other duties as assigned
Position Specifications/Requirements: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential function satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required:
Qualifications
Master's degree in a mental health field or related area is preferred
Professional experience that includes at least five (5) years of supporting project management, project evaluation, and project life-cycles
Professional experience that includes at least five (5) years of developing and deploying trainings
Ability to successfully pass a criminal background check administered by RAINN
Valid identification for transportation or have plans to secure appropriate documentation ASAP for both car and air travel (both domestic and international)
Capacity to travel up to 50% of the time, when necessary
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Experience training varied populations on mental health, trauma, sexual violence, and other related topics preferred
Depth of understanding of victim-centered and trauma-informed communication
Ability to articulate complex issues and problems in a respectful, easy to understand way for training participants of varying ages and abilities
Strong analytical, written, and organizational skills
Ability to work effectively with, or without, close supervision in a collaborative environment with a remote team
Experience working with diverse populations in various environments (e.g., educational, business, government, corporate, non-profit)
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Suite
