Social Media Director
Duties and responsibilities:
Work collaboratively across multiple teams and verticals to produce high-quality content for social media (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube) that drives action and uplifts the stories and work of VoteVets and its membership of over 900,000 progressive veterans and military families nationally.
Develop strategic plan to grow VoteVets’ followers/fans on each of the above platforms, and lead implementation of that plan.
Independently lead and execute on the development of a robust, comprehensive content calendar and multi-channel roadmap across social media platforms. Craft compelling copy for a wide variety of digital content including but not limited to social media posts, video scripts, and website copy.
Service as the subject matter expert on developing branding and tone of voice guidelines for the organization. Manage and maintain all social media channels to ensure consistent messaging and posts on a daily basis.
Use data and analytics to make informed decisions and recommendations about emerging technologies and systems.
Develop results-oriented reporting strategies for all digital efforts.
Qualifications:
Passion for progressive politics and social justice for veterans and military families. Knowledge of digital and political landscape and outreach tactics.
Proficiency in social media platforms like Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram and the ability to craft a content calendar to ensure consistency in messaging across platforms.
The ability to produce consistent writing in a fast-paced environment.
Well-verse in existing and emerging social media platforms and experience with how people consume and communicate with digital content.
Experience on electoral or advocacy campaigns preferred.
Excellent communication, time management skills, and a willingness to learn and respond to leverage important moments online.
3-5 years of experience in the field
