About Horizons  

Horizons creates live and virtual events, classes, and video content that examines the role of psychedelic drugs and plant medicines in science, medicine, culture, and spirituality. ​Horizons: Perspectives on Psychedelics ​ , our flagship event in the autumn, is the largest and longest-running annual gathering of the psychedelic community in the world. Horizons Media, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit educational charity based in New York City.  

Hours + Location  

Part-time allocation, with a greater amount of initial setup work followed by smaller weekly (4-10 hours) routine work. Work is remote and location flexible for the foreseeable future. Must be available for 1-2 meetings/calls per week on Eastern Time business hours. Geographic location can be anywhere. Possibility of 3-6 months and/or ongoing engagement.  

Responsibilities 

  • Lead promotion and marketing of the conference and other year-round programs, with the primary goal of increasing registrations and secondary goal of non-paid increasing engagement and visibility. 

  • Plan and manage campaigns, including daily social media posts, regular email newsletters, digital advertising, and other creative tactics. 

  • Practice a data-oriented approach to managing campaigns, engagement, sales, and CRM data, including segmenting audiences to personalize engagement.  + Supervise graphic design, video, written copy, and other content. Know what “looks good” and fits within the brand universe for focus, quality, and aesthetics.  

  • Familiarity or experience working with most of the following: Facebook/Instagram Ad Manager, Google AdWords, Twitter, YouTube, SquareSpace, MailChimp, SurveyMonkey, gSuite, Slack, Airtable, complex spreadsheets.  

  • Experience in setting up integration and automation of marketing and CRM systems is a big plus. 

A 1099 opportunity for an independent contractor, small agency, or larger agency looking for social impact opportunities.
