Finance Assistant (Part-Time)

We are seeking a Finance Assistant to help keep our financial systems humming. We’ll keep you on your toes juggling multiple tasks, from coordinating accounts payable approvals and generating client invoices to providing support on other financial projects and activities. You will be expected to comfortably communicate with all levels of staff, vendors, and freelancers to enforce deadlines, uphold processes, and gather the information you need to get your job done. This role is ideally suited for someone who is able to work independently, within the context of a virtual team environment. Reporting to the Operations Director, this is a part-time position (10-15 hours/week) with the option of being remote for the right candidate.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Coordinate the accounts payable approval process
Generate and track client invoices
Enter data and manage key information in our project management database
Provide basic research and troubleshooting support on finance-related activities
Maintain electronic filing systems and implement new systems as needed
Provide support to special projects and initiatives
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Associate’s degree in Accounting or Business Administration or comparable training and experience
Experience or familiarity with nonprofit or creative agency/service environment desired
Experience working as part of a virtual team a plus
SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Adept at using discretion with confidential, sensitive information
Able to multitask and work in fast-paced environments independently and collaboratively with the team
Strong work ethic and proactive, enthusiastic approach to daily endeavors
Creative and resourceful problem-solving
Proficient with spreadsheet and database management software
Strong research and administrative skills with accuracy and an attention to detail
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
