Hiring: Publicist (Remote)

Part-Time: May-August, 2020

Stone Soup for a Sustainable World: Life Changing Stories of Young Heroes features 100 climate change activists, green inventors/entrepreneurs, educator champions, change-makers, trailblazers, next-gen philanthropists who are all working to build a more sustainable world.  The Legacy Chapter features the grandchildren of Gandhi, Dr. King Jr., Cesar Chavez, and young people carrying on the legacy of Wangari Maathai, Jane Goodall and Sylvia Earle. 

We need your help to shine the light - and bring media's attention -- to these amazing youth leaders to hear their collective voices. 

We reached out to 40 celebrities to request a blurb, story, video message, podcast, or audiobook.

About Our Organization

The Stone Soup Leadership Institute lights the way for a sustainable world. We are a 501c3 nonprofit that empowers young people with inspirational stories, learning tools, trainings, and leadership initiatives. Young people are hungry to learn what they can do to help rebuild the planet.

In times like these, we need stories that uplift humanity and bring hope to the world.

Celebrities who've shared their star power to uplift our heroes and young people. Walter Cronkite served as the Institute's Chairperson.

RESPONSIBILITIES

We’re looking for a self-starting, media savvy publicist with a strong existing network of celebrity and press contacts to join our team. The Institute is preparing for a soft book launch in late June, with a multi-faceted social media campaign. To learn more about the Institute's 20 year history, read about us here http://soup4worldinstitute.com .

In this role, you will be leveraging your network to amplify the reach of the Institute’s upcoming soft book launch in late June – where we anticipate the largest digital book signing in history! You’ll be responsible for developing new strategies to highlight and disseminate the branding of our related projects, and you will act as the PR lead on a variety of related multi-media projects.

QUALIFICATIONS

The successful candidate will possess some or all of the following skills and experience:

Professional experience as a PR lead, in any of the following areas: environmental, public policy, literary and book launches, or work on mainstream brands and related campaigns. Must have a strong network of existing contacts in media; celebrity contacts a plus.

Exceptional writing skills, with a focus on accuracy and detail in communications.

Experience leveraging varying social media platforms in service of specific PR goals.

Team player, comfortable working in a fast-paced, collaborative environment; remote experience.
