Position Summary
The Senior Director of Programs will have the opportunity to build a stellar programs team from the ground up. We are looking for someone who possesses superior program and team management experience. This position reports directly to the Chief Operating Officer. Relevant knowledge of campaigns, policy and/or the public sector is a plus.
In this position, you will oversee a team of Regional Directors, who lead relationships in states to generate successful adoption of FNA and FNF programs, and a team of Program Directors, who design and are responsible for implementing programmatic solutions in states for stakeholders. The SDP will synthesize organizational knowledge about politics, policy, and state legislatures with superb program management experience to help these teams understand, from a customer success and product perspective, how FNA and FNF can each deliver the best experience to their key programmatic stakeholders among candidates, caucuses, and state lawmakers.
As the manager overseeing the organizations’ interactions with these key stakeholders, the SDP will also support the prospecting and nurturing of new organizational relationships in partnership with the National Partnerships Director, support the Communications team in telling compelling and inspiring stories about the work being done in the states, collaborate with the Product team to develop and improve on digital products, participate in Development and Giving Circle activities, and collaborate with the Chief Strategy Officer to produce extraordinary programs and outcomes.
Responsibilities
Strategy
Develop and implement broader programs strategy and plans in coordination with the senior leadership team and relevant departments
Participate in strategic planning discussions to assess and advance the organization’s near- and long-term strategy
Identify challenges and emerging issues faced by the organization
Support other teams by critically thinking about and responding to their strategic planning efforts
Program Development and Management
Prioritize opportunities and coordinate internal teams to increase stakeholder affinity for FNF/FNA and provide an exemplary stakeholder experience that ensures 100% satisfaction
Leadership of the Programs team to develop and implement short- and long-range state-based relationships, while building a strong, collaborative, and inclusive internal culture that breathes life into the organizations’ values
Oversight of the day-to-day operations of the Programs team
Development and implementation of program, goals, and metrics of success for Programs; own monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting of KPIs and OKRs including but not limited to performance, close-rate, and expected impact
Coach existing team members and inspire them to excel
Onboard and train new hires
Interactions with Other Teams
Collaborate with Partnerships to understand partnership needs and identify potential partners
Participate in communications strategy planning and provide stories, data and other inputs for content
Identify opportunities to advance the “Why States Matter” narrative
Triage requests to Regionals and Program Directors from Comms, Community, and Development teams for stories and data
Participate in Product strategy planning and provide regular feedback to the Product team

Position Details
This is a full-time exempt position based in Brooklyn, NY. We will consider remote opportunities for remarkable candidates. Some travel will be required. Additional evening and weekend hours are occasionally required to fulfill the duties of this position. Relocation is not available for this role.
