You should apply to this role if you dream of writing and researching deep into topics like manufacturing, capital access, racial equity, community development, and urban planning; supporting a team through detail-driven project coordination; and supporting makers and manufacturers as they attempt to start and scale their businesses.

Projects will be assigned based on need and the Program Assistant’s experience and interests. The most successful teammates will thrive in dynamic environments where learning is prioritized.
Duties and Responsibilities will include:
  • In coordination with Directors, perform primary and secondary research on topics related to our Pathways and TEAM projects. This could include internet or primary source research, interviews, supporting focus groups, and more.

  • Edit working papers, policy guides, and other deliverable types, in collaboration with the publications and communications team as appropriate
  • Plan events and coordinate their execution, such as webinars and in-person meetings, including drafting agendas and coordinating with speakers.
  • Manage projects in full, in partnership with Directors and external partners.
  • Support network and campaign outreach activities, including research, drafting materials to send to potential network members, and tracking contacts and their engagement with the network.
  • Travel expectations approximately 5%.
Skills / Qualifications include:
  • Self-directed, team player; strong problem-solving skills including the ability to develop innovative approaches and ideas to meet challenges with resourcefulness.
  • Strong writing, editing and interviewing skills.
  • Ability to quickly absorb and synthesize complex information into succinct and compelling written products for a diverse audience.
  • Strong organizational ability with capacity to manage multiple projects.
  • Highly organized and comfortable with daily management and project tracking.
  • Ability to keep information confidential.
  • Requires willingness and ability to occasionally travel and/or work evening and weekend hours (with the utmost regard to your safety and comfort levels as we move through pandemic recovery).
  • Understanding of, or experience with capital access - lending, equity financing - not required, but a plus.
