The Fair Trade Federation (FTF) is the trade association that strengthens and promotes North American organizations fully committed to fair trade.

Membership Manager
The Fair Trade Federation is a trade association of fair trade enterprises fully committed to equitable and sustainable trading partnerships. We strengthen and support our members in order to grow the global movement of trade that values the health of the planet, and the labor, dignity, and equality of all people.
A Membership Manager is needed to work in our small office. Candidates will have the opportunity to develop programs that support Federation members and to engage with a dynamic community of fair trade enterprises.
This position will be based in Lancaster, PA and preference will be given to those in the greater Lancaster area. However, remote employment may be considered on a case-by-case basis. Some periodic travel is required.
Responsibilities
The Membership Manager’s duties will include:
  • Manage and lead continuous improvements to the Federation’s membership screening and rescreening process, which upholds our members’ commitment to fair trade principles and practices.
  • Efficiently process screening documents and provide timely, accurate, and helpful support to Federation screening committees.
  • Lead the management of the Federation’s membership database, recruitment database, and member Hub.
  • Support the facilitation of the annual Fair Trade Federation conference.
  • Build relationships with members and potential members by communicating eloquently about the impact of fair trade and the benefits of membership.
  • Support the fulfillment of the Fair Trade Federation Strategic Plan.
  • Other duties as needed. We are a highly collaborative office where everyone pitches in!
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in non-profit management, sustainable development, or related field.
  • Significant experience with a fair trade organization and/or related ethical/social enterprise.
  • Demonstrated excellence and professionalism in oral and written communication.
  • Efficiency in work, coupled with the flexibility to quickly acquire new skills.
  • Passion for fair trade and a commitment to the Federation’s values.
