Part-time Development and Communications Associate
Little Sisters Fund (LSF) is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Development and Communications Associate to join its team. The ideal candidate is a positive and extremely organized individual with strong communication skills, a flexible and proactive attitude, excellent judgment, strong software and social media skills, and a commitment to LSF’s mission.
This is a part-time (10-20 hours per week), remote work position, with the ideal candidate located in the greater Washington, D.C. area. The Development and Communications Associate will participate in LSF’s fundraising efforts through donor cultivation support, including gift tracking and acknowledgement, the creation of donor communication materials, and maintenance of the development database and other record-keeping systems. Communications tasks will include overseeing LSF’s Facebook page and drafting the quarterly e-newsletter.

Little Sisters Fund helps economically disadvantaged Nepalese girls to become empowered leaders through education, mentoring and community support. Founded in 1998, the Little Sisters Fund began with a single scholarship for one “Little Sister.” Over the past 18 years, the Fund has grown to support over 2,000 girls in 21 districts of Nepal. To learn more, please visit
  • Assist with preparation of grant reports and proposals consistent with funder requirements.
  • Provide administrative support for Bloomerang, our fundraising database, including ensuring accuracy of contact information and entering all activity engagements (recipients of mailings, attendance at events, etc.).
  • Implement direct mail and online fundraising campaigns through mailings, donor recognition, and campaign correspondence. These duties include printing, stuffing, and mailing as needed.
  • Produce timely gift acknowledgement letters and tax receipts.
  • Conduct preliminary research on foundation prospects. Compile background information and briefing memos as needed.
  • Support the daily management of LSF’s social media platforms, including assisting in audience engagement and growth.
  • Assist in the development of LSF’s communications needs, including blog posts, social media, quarterly e-newsletters, and annual report.
  • Layout quarterly e-newsletter and other donor communications in Bloomerang.
Desired Skills & Experience
  • At least 2-3 years of experience in non-profit fundraising and/or communications
  • Highly resourceful team player, with the ability to also excel independently and efficiently manage time
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Intercultural communication skills
  • Prior experience with Bloomerang or other donor management system
  • Experience updating Wordpress websites a plus
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Word and Excel required
  • Some professional social media experience
