Financial Planning and Analysis Manager
The Finance Manager builds and updates budgets in line with Medic’s company strategy; manages product and services pricing; and creates and maintains financial reporting that stakeholders can easily understand. The position is a combination of analysis and ongoing administrative maintenance with a split of roughly 75/25, respectively. This position will work closely with our team of accountants in the US, Kenya, and Nepal but is not primarily an accounting role. 
Position Details
  • Employment Status: Full-time
  • Location: US based. Atlanta, Seattle, or remote in one of the following time zones: Pacific, Mountain, Central, or Eastern
Essential Functions
Budget Management
  • Create regional and global project budgets aligned with restricted funding
  • Manage and reduce costs of travel and team meet up budgets
  • Support annual budgeting process, with direction from COO and CFO
  • Manage inputs into financial projections for the global team
  • Monitor expenses and allocate to appropriate restricted grants and contracts
Analysis and Reporting
  • Consolidate and analyze financial data (budgets, income statement forecasts etc.) taking into account company’s goals and financial standing
  • Assemble and summarize data to structure sophisticated reports on financial status and risks
  • Consult with the management team to guide and influence long term and strategic decision making within the scope of the analysis
  • Track and determine financial status by analyzing actual results in comparison with forecasts
  • Support writing of complex budgets for grants and contracts
Process Improvement
  • Provide creative alternatives and recommendations to reduce costs and improve financial performance
  • Work across teams to build new pricing strategies around delivery models
  • Develop financial models, conduct benchmarking, and process analysis
Administrative Tasks
  • Keep budgeting and financial templates updated
  • Reconcile transactions by comparing and correcting data
Continued Learning
  • Gain and update job knowledge to remain informed about novelty in the field
  • Perform other project related duties when called upon to do so
Competencies
  • Proficient in spreadsheets, MS Office, and financial software applications
  • Strong cross cultural awareness and passion for working in a diverse environment
  • Deep knowledge using QuickBooks (Online)
  • Outstanding presentation, reporting, and communication skills
  • Proven knowledge of financial forecasting, corporate finance, and information analysis
  • Well informed in current financial subjects, accounting, tax laws, money market and business environments
  • Attention to detail
  • Strong adherence to deadlines
  • Excellent communication skills (writing and speaking) in English. Must be able to express thoughts and opinions clearly and concisely
  • Proven ability to work independently
Qualifications
  • BS degree in Finance, Economics, or related field
  • MBA, Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or related field is preferential
  • A minimum of 3-5 years of professional experience working in finance and accounting
  • Must be flexible with working hours to communicate with international offices
  • Experience with non-profit accounting a plus
