Executive Assistant
Give an Hour, a national nonprofit is seeking a versatile, full-time Executive Assistant with nonprofit experience in the Washington DC Metro area. This is a virtual-office position work from home, maintaining core “regular” business hours. We are seeking an individual with high-energy who enjoys a fast paced, challenging environment that requires excellent problem-solving skills and flexibility. Must be comfortable navigating social media (e.g. Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn).
Reporting to the CEO, the Executive Assistant is responsible for organizing, scheduling, and anticipating needs of the senior executive. Specifically,
  • Serves as primary representative and gatekeeper for the chief executive
  • Maintaining calendar and coordinating meetings and conference calls
  • Scheduling travel plans and associated logistics
  • Tracking contacts, meetings, correspondence, proposals, and needed follow-up
  • Drafting emails and preparing documents for distributions to significant leaders
  • Preparing, editing, and organizing PowerPoints for high-level presentations
  • Assisting with quarterly Executive Board meetings and maintaining Board information
  • Occasionally being available on evenings or weekends, especially when CEO is traveling
Key Attributes for success:
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with exceptional attention to detail
  • Ability to interact professionally with high-level individuals on behalf of the executive
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and assignments simultaneously
  • Previous experience in non profit or nontraditional work environment
  • Thrives in a challenging, high-energy environment requiring flexibility and excellent problem solving skills.
  • Enjoys variation in day to day tasks and is comfortable navigating rapidly changing scenarios
  • Enjoys the responsibility of supporting and ensuring the success of the executive
  • Ability to present information concisely and effectively, both verbally and in writing
  • Ability to work independently to take initiative, and to anticipate tasks
  • Strong computer and internet skills
